Metal Scratches began in the year 2000 and is published out of Forest Lake, Minnesota. It is an experimental literary magazine and we like to explore the darker side of humanity. This doesn't mean we like rape stories or stories filled with blood and gore… we just need our characters to have problems. If the story is sweet with a happy ending, it is not for us.  We publish short stories only and encourage new writers to submit their manuscripts. We are small, there are only two of us working on this magazine, but we still try to put out at least two issues every year.
